Properties of the baths available at the Beer Spa
Enjoying the benefits of beer has been known for a long time, and it’s not just about taste!
The first baths that offered beer baths appeared about two thousand years ago in Egypt and ancient China. Hot springs were used for personal hygiene, curing diseases and boosting immunity. In China, beer was also used for skin care, and Egyptian women soaked their faces in it to improve their appearance.
In Europe, on the other hand, the nurturing properties of beer were first appreciated by the Germans during the Middle Ages. Later, beer was also used in many other countries in folk medicine, and brewer’s yeast helped with many diseases.
On Polish soil, a beer bath appeared as early as the 19th century (in the then Polish city of Lviv), and Maria Konopnicka herself used its advantages! In later times, the Poles were heavily inspired by the Czechs, who are famous for the largest Beer Spa in the world.
