The history of the first beer baths dates back as far as 2000 years ago. The first baths offering such treatments were located in Egypt and ancient China. Even in those times, beer was used for personal hygiene, boosting immunity, and treating various ailments. In China, beer was an important element in skincare, while Egyptian women soaked their faces in it to enhance their beauty.
In Europe, specifically in Germany, the skincare properties of beer were appreciated somewhat later, during the Middle Ages. Later on, beer was used in folk medicine in many other countries, and brewer's yeast helped in treating various illnesses.
In Poland, the first beer spa appeared in the 19th century (in the Polish city of Lviv at that time), and even Maria Konopnicka herself benefited from its advantages! To this day, the Polish people draw inspiration from the Czechs, who are famous for having the largest Beer Spa in the world. Polacy do dziś inspirują się Czechami, którzy słyną z największego Piwnego Spa na świecie.
